Portfolio: Custom Squarespace design for a bold & fun event planning company

The Brand

Popoff Events is a business I invented for a passion project ;)

My goal was to create a website design that doesn’t fit the typical mold of wedding brands.

I knew this imaginary event planning company would be fun, celebratory, spunky, and bold.

The Design Plan

I was inspired by these images from Social Squares stock photography.

The floral arrangements on the blue tablescape are what really ignited my excitement for the color scheme - exploring the idea that red & blue does not have to evoke the Fourth of July.

It’s a playful color combo that carries the energy I wanted for this fictional brand.

The Squarespace Website

This homepage was built in Squarespace 7.1 (that’s my affiliate link), but I wanted to make sure it didn’t look like your standard Squarespace template - so I added lots of custom graphics into the mix.

Those elements + the photo selections are what helps this website feel like a luxurious party!

The color scheme is kept very consistent, even within the photos themselves, to communicate confidence and credibility as an established business.

Instead of showing off specific event designs, the focus is on creating an atmosphere that the potential client would want to be a part of :)

The User Experience

It was important to me that all the fun elements translated well on mobile devices, too - not just on the desktop.

I never want my designs to be so busy that they distract from the actual information, so it’s a delicate balance!

The layout of this homepage is also intuitive and set up to convert.
