Celebrating Audacity! The Podcast

Telling stories to connect powerful women with powerful women in the making.

Friends and co-hosts Gina, Toya, and Candace decided to create a podcast with the mission, “to create a network of women who act in fearlessness to positively impact the world.”

They knew they would be featuring a diverse group of guests: women from all walks of life, of all colors and ages.

Of course, they needed a website to help promote the pod, so they came to me! And I’m aaaall about being fearless & audacious. ;)

Let’s take a look at the transformation!

the “before” website

The ladies had put together a simple Squarespace design that had some personality; but they felt it wasn’t quite hitting the mark.

You can see that the core components are there: a distinct logo, a range of brown skin tones represented in the color scheme, a celebratory feeling from confetti, and a photo of a smiling, successful-looking woman.

The design elements definitely have soul, but they weren’t quite working in harmony and are a bit too literal.

The overall effect felt a bit somber - which is the OPPOSITE of what we want for Celebrating Audacity!

Updating the design scheme

When it came to the color scheme, I felt that we could invoke the idea of diverse skin tones without using all browns.

I also thought we needed to inject some lively energy into the palette by removing the dark blue color and instead using bright accents of aqua and yellow!

We also agreed that it would be beneficial to create new podcast cover art to match with the website design. See below!

the “after” website

I spent time sourcing the perfect combo of stock photos to complement the new color scheme and give off the celebratory & empowering energy. Great photos make all the difference!

We also matched the fonts on the site to the logo, played around with color blocking, and used an unexpected shape for the buttons to keep things fun & inviting.

And I’m so happy Gina, Toya, & Candace were ecstatic about the transformation!

Here was the result! I’m obsessed.
