Finally Love Your Website: Smart Design Made Simple (The podcast for wedding pros & creatives)

About the Owner, Emily Jane Lee

Hey there! My name's Emily Jane Lee, and I'm the designer behind the studio By Emily Jane, where we help wedding pros and creatives build fresh websites that actually work - websites that reflect your personality, your skill level, and your one-of-a-kindness, so your dream clients can’t help but notice you.

I lead the strategy & creative direction on all of our projects, and I work with a small team of talented folks who support things behind the scenes :)

But let me talk about you for a moment.

I’m willing to bet you’ve put in a whole lot of blood, sparkle, and tears to get your business where it is today. You’ve developed your own style, you’ve mastered your craft, and you’ve got a vision for where you wanna take things next.

But if you’re being honest, you’re not so sure your website is keeping up…

Maybe you cringe every time you send someone your link—because you know it doesn’t really represent you anymore.

Or no matter how many times you tweak it, it still kinda screams DIY.

Maybe it’s just… not getting you the right clients.

And you’re left wondering: Is my website actually helping me? Or is it just sitting there taking up space online?

Why your website might not be working anymore

We live in a world where people tend to have like, minimum, 10 tabs open at any given time (I know I'm more of a 50-tab girlie myself), and that means your site has to really catch their attention. Plus, according to Stanford University, 75% of users are deciding whether or not to trust your business based only on how your website LOOKS.

So lemme put it to you this way: if your website's not inspiring you anymore, chances are it's not exciting your people either.

But figuring out what to do about it can feel overwhelming. Do you tweak what you have? Start from scratch? Hire someone or try another DIY fix?

All totally valid questions. And the good news is that you don’t have to figure it by yourself. That’s why I made this podcast.

My job is to help you finally have a website that feels like you and makes it stupidly easy for your dream clients to say, “Heck yeah, that is the service provider I need.”

This mini podcast series is gonna be your go-to guide for everything you need to know about working with us:

  • Our approach & process

  • What you need to have prepped if we’re gonna be working together (and when)

  • How to know which website service is right for where you are right now

  • What kind of ROI you could expect from a website redesign

  • And more!

I wanted you to get all this info at your own pace, without any sales call pressure.

So whether you binge it all at once or take it slow, my goal is for you to walk away feeling fully informed—so you can confidently decide if now’s the right time to outsource your website, and if I’m the right designer for you.

Why I love helping wedding pros & creatives

Now let me give you a little background on me and why I do this work.

I have been working 1-on-1 with service providers around the world on their websites since 2019, and before that I was a photographer. So I like to say that this essentially makes me really good at highlighting my clients' best features and making them look like hot stuff ;)

I've seen how the right website can change how someone is showing up. And I get what it’s like to need your business to work for you. I personally have two chronic pain conditions and I'm hella neurodivergent, which means I can't run my business exactly the same way that everyone else does.

And I know even if you don't relate to that specifically, everyone has their own unique situation that shapes how they need their business to work for them.

Maybe you’re tired of offering day-of wedding management, and you’ve hit a point where you refuse to take on work that drains you, even if it means saying no more often. Or maybe you’re a parent with limited work hours and you need to spend less time in the inbox, educating potential clients on your services over and over again and convincing them to book you. Or maybe you’re ready to take yourself out of the day-to-day work so you can focus on new projects, which means it’s time to raise your prices and build a team.

Whatever your needs and goals are, I believe in building a website that supports the business you actually want to have.

And when you fully own that vision — when you stop trying to fit into a mold and instead lean into what makes you different? That's when you start attracting clients who are an actual perfect match.

That’s what I want for you.

And in this podcast series, you’ll hear real client stories from people who’ve made that shift and who have seen fantastic results from it.

Finding the right fit (and why it matters)

Now, our studio specializes in the wedding industry; so we've worked with planners, photographers, florists, calligraphers, venues, DJs, you name it.

I really try to stay plugged in to wedding business education, buyer psychology, and market trends; so that I have a good grasp on what engaged couples are looking for. And what I love doing is taking that knowledge and applying it to your specific business in a way that's unique to you and helps you stand out in a crowded & (let’s be real) competitive industry.

BUT—if you don’t have a wedding business, don’t tune out just yet.

We’ve also worked successfully with a wide variety of other service providers like podcasters, coaches, artists, astrologers, and more.

The biggest thing isn’t what you do—it's finding a designer that you like their style, you feel you’d work well with them, and you think they can understand your needs.

Now, who are we not the best fit for? That would be:

  • If you have a primarily product-based business,

  • if you have a more corporate-type or super formal business like law firms or financial consultants,

  • or for anyone who wants a WordPress or Wix website because we work exclusively with Showit & Squarespace (but just as a side note, you can always move to a different platform during a redesign).

If you’re not sure if I can help you? Go ahead and fill out our client application, tell me about your business, and I’ll give you my honest opinion if what you’re looking for is within my wheelhouse.

Who this podcast is for

So this podcast is for you if any of the following applies to you:

  • You want a website that attracts your kind of people

  • You want to provide potential clients a 5-star experience before you even have a conversation with them

  • If you’re tired of DIYing, tired of second-guessing, and you love the idea of handing this off to a pro so you can focus on what you do best

  • Or you’ve built a business you’re proud of, and you know you deserve a website that reflects that!

In the next episode, I’m gonna walk you through the most common mistakes I see service providers making with their web design that keeps them from booking clients, and what we do instead.

Alright? See you in Episode 2!
