Portfolio: Colorful wedding planner website design in Squarespace

The client: Speedwell Event Co.

My client, Veronica, came to me with a clear problem: She wasn’t getting any inquiries. After having her event planning company for years, she hadn’t run into this issue before. She’d been using the same DIY website for years and thought it might be considered outdated now.

Since the wedding industry imploded during the pandemic, it definitely seems like couples are being choosier with their vendors and more careful with their money. So it’s also possible that Speedwell’s website wasn’t doing a good enough job of conveying high-quality service, instilling excitement about the possibilities of working together, or creating a sense of trust for their brand.

Veronica also felt like she was ready to not only attract more clients, but the right kind of client. The kind who was looking for a planner that was knowledgeable, organized, & detail-oriented; but also kind, relaxed, & fun.

Since Speedwell charges thousands of dollars for their services and proudly lists their prices on their website, it was super important that we used great design + copy to communicate their worth.

The service: A custom Squarespace site

Once we had clear goals in mind, we guided Veronica through copywriting outlines to make sure we had a compelling sales strategy for each important page on the site.

We decided to use a concoction of deep, bright, & pastel colors - pulled from her existing logo and some of her favorite portfolio images. This color palette + the fun font selections really create that stress-free & inviting atmosphere :)

To help Speedwell stand out in the DFW, Texas wedding market; we also utilized custom touches like split-screen layouts, section borders, and highlighted text.

Check out some of my favorite snapshots of the design below!

Check out our amazing results from this project!

“I’ve already gotten 3 leads from my new site in less than 2 weeks - when I hadn’t gotten any in months before that!”

I was hesitant about the cost but now I feel the value is 100% worth it. Definitely just do it! Emily is the best and I’m thrilled with her service.
